Engineering Officer

An Engineering Officer in the Merchant Navy is responsible for the safety, performance and maintenance of the engine room and ship’s technical systems. To work in this role, you must be practical and resourceful and have a real interest in mechanical and electrical systems. Training will take place both onshore and at sea across five different phases. We offer the Engineering Officer HNC/HND programme, which normally takes cadets two-and-a-half to three years to complete depending on the route taken.

Deck Officer

A Deck Officer is also responsible for the safety, communications, cargo, passengers and crew management on board ship. Training will take place both onshore and at sea across five different phases. We offer the Deck Officer HNC/HND programme, which normally takes cadets two-and-a-half to three years to complete depending on the route taken.
